About Our Providers

Dr. Andrea Jones is double board-certified in Allergy and Immunology and Pediatrics and provides comprehensive allergy and asthma care for children and adults. She has practiced as an allergist and immunologist since 2016. Before moving to Iowa, Dr. Jones practiced in Colorado, where she worked alongside Dr. Kara Crosby.

Dr. Jones became the owner of Allergy & Asthma Associates of the Mississippi Valley in 2022 and is proud to continue the practice’s longstanding tradition of serving the Quad Cities. She and Dr. Crosby are pleased to be working together again and share a commitment to providing high-quality, individualized care.

Dr. Jones earned her medical degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin and completed her pediatric residency at Phoenix Children’s Hospital. She then completed her fellowship in Allergy and Immunology at National Jewish Health and the University of Colorado.

Dr. Jones evaluates and treats a wide range of allergic and immunologic conditions, including environmental allergies, asthma, food allergies, eczema, chronic hives and angioedema, insect-sting allergies, contact dermatitis, and eosinophilic gastrointestinal disorders. She also performs oral food and medication challenges and provides allergen immunotherapy and biologic treatments.

Dr. Jones especially enjoys establishing long-term relationships with her patients and helping them improve their quality of life. She takes the time to get to know each patient as an individual, understand how their condition affects their daily life, and develop a personalized treatment plan that reflects their needs and goals.

Dr. Kara Crosby is double board-certified in Allergy and Immunology and Pediatrics and provides comprehensive allergy and asthma care for children and adults. She has practiced as an allergist and immunologist since 2016 and has been part of Allergy & Asthma Associates of the Mississippi Valley since 2026.

Before coming to the Quad Cities, Dr. Crosby practiced in Colorado, where she worked alongside Dr. Andrea Jones. Their established professional relationship and shared commitment to excellent patient care provide a strong foundation for their work together at Allergy & Asthma Associates.

Dr. Crosby earned her medical degree from the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine. She completed her pediatric residency at Akron Children’s Hospital and her fellowship in Allergy and Immunology at the University at Buffalo, part of the State University of New York system.

Dr. Crosby evaluates and treats a broad range of conditions, including environmental allergies, asthma, food allergies, eczema, chronic hives and angioedema, insect-sting allergies, contact dermatitis, and eosinophilic gastrointestinal disorders. She also provides allergy testing, oral food and medication challenges, spirometry, allergen immunotherapy, and biologic treatments.

Dr. Crosby is dedicated to providing compassionate, evidence-based care. She listens carefully to her patients’ concerns, explains diagnoses and treatment options in an understandable way, and develops practical treatment plans that patients and families can confidently incorporate into their daily lives.

Nicole Hopkins is a certified physician assistant with more than 15 years of experience caring for patients with allergies, asthma, and related conditions. She joined Allergy & Asthma Associates of the Mississippi Valley in 2010. Today, she continues to work closely with the practice’s physicians and clinical team, providing valuable continuity for longtime patients while welcoming individuals and families who are new to the practice.

Nicole provides evaluation, treatment, and ongoing management for children and adults with environmental allergies, asthma, food allergies, eczema, chronic hives, and other allergic conditions. She also has extensive experience with allergy skin testing, patch testing, and supervised oral food and medication challenges.

Having cared for many patients and families over the course of several years, Nicole values the trust that develops through long-term relationships. She works collaboratively with the practice’s physicians and clinical team to provide coordinated, individualized, and evidence-based care.

Nicole is committed to helping patients understand their conditions and feel confident managing their symptoms. Her experience, thoughtful approach, and familiarity with patients’ histories make her a trusted resource for individuals and families throughout their care.

Outside of work, Nicole enjoys spending time with her family and grandchildren and has interests in biking, gardening, and reading. She also volunteers with Quest for Christ, where she enjoys sharing God’s Word with elementary school children. 

Cari Waterkotte is an ARNP-certified family nurse practitioner with more than seven years of clinical experience. She joined Allergy & Asthma Associates of the Mississippi Valley in 2025 and provides allergy and asthma care for children and adults in collaboration with the practice’s physicians and clinical team.

Cari earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Trinity College of Nursing & Health Sciences and her Master of Science in Nursing from Bradley University, where she completed her training as a family nurse practitioner. Her clinical background includes experience in gastroenterology, intraoperative nursing, and trauma-center surgical care. Her gastroenterology experience provides a valuable perspective when caring for patients whose allergic conditions may also involve gastrointestinal symptoms.

Cari evaluates and manages environmental allergies, asthma, eczema, chronic hives, and other allergic conditions. She provides comprehensive assessments, ongoing follow-up care, patient education, and individualized, evidence-based treatment recommendations.

Cari believes patients are best able to manage their health when they understand their diagnosis and the purpose behind their treatment plan. She is known for her approachable and supportive style and strives to ensure that patients and families feel heard, informed, and actively involved in their care.

Outside of work, Cari enjoys spending time outdoors gardening, biking, and camping as well as making memories with her family.
